This spring, Achieve had the great opportunity to host Amy Loyd, U.S. Department of Education Assistant Secretary for Career, Technical and Adult Education, at our Roosevelt High School Career & College Center. Our program team shared details about our comprehensive career and college readiness services in Minneapolis Public Schools and Saint Paul Public Schools, as well as Step Up high school and Achieve college internships.
Amy also provided information about the new federal "Unlocking Career Success" initiative that reimagines how our nation’s high schools can prepare all students to thrive in their future careers. Find out more about this initiative, which aligns with many aspects of work carried out by Achieve Twin Cities and our district partners.
Achieve later received a national shout-out from Amy in the education publication The 74, in which she pointed to Achieve and the Boston Private Industry Council as promising examples of collaborative work between educators, businesses, industries, nonprofits and other community stakeholders in career and college readiness work.
