Donte grew up in Chicago as a proud older brother to his twin siblings. Before transitioning to Minneapolis - Saint Paul, he worked as a youth advocate for six years in various high schools in the Chicagoland area, and as a college counselor, teacher and program director for a college access and success program.

Donte's passion for youth advocacy comes from his own lived experience as a first generation college student. He attended the University of Illinois at Urbana - Champaign, beginning his studies as a meteorology major but later switching to social work when he realized the impact he wanted to have on the world. During college, he played club baseball and intramural soccer and was vice president of the Bachelors of Social Work Association.

In his free time, Donte enjoys running, playing golf, rec soccer and rec softball, while also keeping up with his Chicago White Sox, Bears and Blackhawks. One accomplishment he is most proud of is presenting at Harvard University on college access and social emotional learning. He is excited to continue assisting students with their postsecondary journeys in the Twin Cities.
