About School & Department Funds

Ss the nonprofit foundation for Minneapolis Public Schools (MPS), Achieve Twin Cities manages a dedicated fund for each MPS school and department that has been approved by the district, as well as grants for specific initiatives. Achieve receives private donations for these funds and makes approved payments and reimbursements for special projects and activities.

Achieve will assess a one-time, 5% fiscal management fee (as set in our current agreement with MPS) on all gifts designated to MPS school and department funds. Achieve will also pass along fees for gifts involving credit card processing and stock transfers.

Note: Achieve Twin Cities cannot accept payments on behalf of MPS schools or departments, nor any funds designated for student activities, field trips or specific use within a school.

Access Your MPS Fund

  1. Complete MPS fund request form. All requests for funds must be in the amount of at least $250, due to the high volume of MPS fund activity and limited staff capacity to process requests. Complete this MPS fund request form and all required documentation. Be sure to include invoice or receipt information with the form.

  2. Gather required signatures. Make sure you have secured signatures from the person requesting the check, the school principal or other leader authorized to approve the request, and the finance clerk who is signing off on the request.

  3. Submit form and docs to the MPS finance department. After the MPS fund form is completed and all documentation and signatures have been gathered, scan all of these documents into one PDF document and email to the MPS finance department (Achieve.TwinCities@mpls.k12.mn.us) for approval.

  4. MPS sends approval to Achieve Twin Cities. After we receive approval from MPS, we will process your request. Processing will be delayed if the form does not have all required documents or MPS approval.

  5. Achieve Twin Cities issues check. We will mail out the check within 10 days of receiving approval from MPS.
