Andy implements Achieve's work as the nonprofit foundation for Minneapolis Public Schools, which includes private funds management , scholarships, and awards. Prior to working at Achieve, he led postsecondary policy and program initiatives with the New York City Department of Education. His past work also includes college admissions and counseling in Minneapolis and Chicago.

A K-12 graduate of Minneapolis Public Schools, Andy holds a bachelor's degree in history and American studies from St. Olaf College and a master's degree in education policy from Teachers College, Columbia University. He lives in Northeast Minneapolis.
