
Lucia (she/her) has a strong passion for supporting young people and creating strong partnerships and resources for this work. Lucia is a former Achieve Career and College Center coordinator at Longfellow Alternative High School, where she utilized her creativity, knowledge and ability to build genuine relationships and support youth who are already managing many responsibilities.
Before joining the Achieve team, Lucia worked as a program supervisor at the Minnesota Office of Higher Education, where she was a co-founder and co-chair of the State Enterprise-wide Black Indigenous Women of Color Employee Resource Group. She also has extensive experience with TRIO and GEAR UP programs, serving students in Minneapolis, Bloomington, Robbinsdale, Richfield and Edina public school districts.
Being a first-generation student herself, Lucia knows how crucial these programs and resources are for our young people. She grew up on Saint Paul's West Side and earned her bachelor's degree in social work from St. Cloud State University and her Master of Social Work from the University of Minnesota.
