Welcome to our new career and college readiness colleagues
As we prepare for the start of another exciting school year, we’re delighted to introduce three new team members for our career and college readiness centers in Minneapolis Public Schools (MPS) and Saint Paul Public Schools (SPPS)!
Aisha Mohamed (she/her) is our new career and college readiness (CCR) coordinator at Como Park High School in SPPS. Aisha joins us most recently from Sprockets, where she was the communication and youth engagement coordinator and responsible for preparing young people for civic engagement through carefully created curriculum and programming. Aisha is passionate about youth development and she brings years of experience supporting youth of all ages in social emotional learning and career and college prep. Born and raised in St. Paul, Aisha is a proud Como Park alum and holds her undergraduate degree in health policy and political science from the University of Rochester in New York. She is eager to re-join the Como community in this new capacity. Welcome, Aisha!
Our new CCR coordinator at Central High School in SPPS is Tory Waggoner (they/them). Tory brings over 11 years of school-based experience in a variety of teaching roles. For the past 4 years, Tory has been a classroom teacher with Hiawatha Academies, where they developed curriculum for the early college seminar course, coordinated summer bridge programming and coordinated college and career exploration events. Beyond their talent in the classroom, Tory is active in helping teachers further develop their awareness for LGTBQ+ inclusion and served as a founding member of Hiawatha’s equity team. A skilled educator and collaborator, Tory holds a Minnesota teaching license and master’s degree in neuroeducation from the University of Portland in Oregon. They attended Cornell College in Iowa for their undergraduate degree in English and secondary education. Tory’s great variety of experiences will be well utilized at Central this year and beyond! Katherine Hauschild (she/her) is the new CCR co-coordinator at Southwest High School in MPS. Katherine brings 15 years of experience in secondary and higher education. Most recently, she worked as the assistant director of college counseling at Shattuck St. Mary’s School, supporting students from over 20 different countries to achieve their personal and educational goals. Katherine has also held leadership positions in recruitment and admissions at Hamline University, the University of Pennsylvania and Bates College. She earned her bachelor’s degree in sociology from Bates College and her master’s degree in educational leadership with a concentration in higher education from Villanova University. Katherine is a youth-centered professional who builds strong relationships with young people at the core of her postsecondary pathway support. Welcome, Katherine!
