Kelsey brings a love for education and creating unique opportunities for urban youth. Kelsey is a former Step Up intern and did high school internships at the University of Minnesota and The Bakken Museum, where her passion for education was first discovered.

Kelsey graduated from Marquette University in 2012 with a B.A. in journalism. She went on to complete a year of service with AmeriCorps and City Year Milwaukee. With City Year, she mentored students in Milwaukee Public Schools, using a variety of intervention strategies to improve attendance, behavior and performance.

After that, she joined Playworks Wisconsin to advocate for the importance of play in the classroom and on the playground, while educating Milwaukee youth through games. Through these opportunities Kelsey has seen the vital role non-profit organizations play in our communities.

In her free time you will often find Kelsey cooking, playing board games, and listening to musical soundtracks.
