
California-born and Iowa raised, Miguel came from an immigrant family and values family, a hard work ethic and experiential living. As a first-generation college graduate, education has been a life-long pillar of Miguel’s dedication to helping others along their educational journeys. Miguel attended Central College in Pella, Iowa, where he earned his bachelor of arts in integrated studies with a focus on education, sociology and Spanish.
Miguel is a new arrival in the Twin Cities and excited to begin fostering positive youth development as an Achieve Career and College Center coordinator. He brings valuable experiences working in various roles and career fields, with opportunities that harnessed his skillset for authentic, engaging and knowledgeable postsecondary support.
In his new city, Miguel is building connections with the Latinx community and supporting educational experiences for all stages of life. He believes that life is deserving of the unique energies that we share with the world around us, which allows us to enjoy the beautiful intricacies of life. Inspiring each other, embracing our uniqueness, and sharing our cultures will help build a diverse, inclusive community.
