We stand in solidarity with our refugee and immigrant communities

During this time of fear and uncertainty in the Twin Cities, across Minnesota, and throughout our nation, Achieve Twin Cities stands in solidarity with our Somali, Latino, and all refugee and immigrant communities.

These communities are an essential part of Minnesota’s rich mosaic. They love their new country, and their hard work, determination and successes strengthen our schools, workplaces and communities, and help shape a more resilient and prosperous future for all of us. They are our neighbors and colleagues; our students and teachers; our families and friends.

Our vision is clear: all people – including our immigrant and refugee neighbors – deserve full and equitable access to the support and resources they need to imagine—and achieve—their dreams and life goals. This commitment is at the very heart of Achieve as we work to build a more just, vibrant and inclusive community.

Guided by our values, we reject efforts that divide us and recommit ourselves to building a future where everyone can live rewarding lives filled with promise and opportunity. We invite our entire community to stand with us in support of our immigrant students and families—today and always.

We call on our partners, supporters, and neighbors to listen to those most impacted and follow their leadership; use our privileges and resources to best support our communities; and take informed action. Learn your rights, know how to respond, and stand alongside our students and families as we work toward a more just and compassionate future.

With hope and gratitude,

Danielle Grant
